Imagine walking into a Hollywood Scoring stage during a break. All the instruments are out, but none of the musicians are present. Then the conductor returns. "Go ahead," he says. "Bring all your friends and have a jam."
But that's not all, because the instruments are from all over the world, easy and fun to play--and the whole party is being recorded . . . and filmed!
Because of the unique choice of instruments; folk and classical, Western, Eastern, ethnic, and World--all chosen for relative simplicity of use--everyone can enjoy a Fun-do-mental Music Party, even if they have little or no musical training!
How can this be? Because the instruments have all been hand-picked with a composer's ear toward sounding well when played together. Zithers, harps, kalimbas, tongue drums, gopichands, khamaks, santoors; they all sound beautiful no matter how you play them! It's about creating a texture rather than a melody. It's about having fun while making music--the learning is a byproduct. And that's why it works.
