Materials Criteria

Appliances: Must be clean and in 100% working condition. Must have all knobs, trays, burners, shelves, etc. Generally must be 5 years old or newer. Refrigerators 10–12 years old or newer, gas stoves 8 years old or newer, water heaters 2-3 years old or newer.

Cabinets / Countertops: We will take cabinets in complete units (must have all doors and drawers), shelving display racks, etc. They do not accept cabinet doors or drawers by themselves. Must be free of rot and in usable condition.

Carpet / Linoleum: Only new carpet and linoleum will be accepted.

Doors: We accept doors if they are in good condition only. They must not have rot, separating, or cracks, etc. Prefer doorknobs removed and bagged to sell separately.

Drywall: Full or half sheets only, no watermarks or broken corners.

Electrical Fixtures: Accept electrical parts, lights, wire, and hardware associated with electrical wiring. Only accept light fixtures in working order. Prefer they be clean and not covered with rust. No fluorescent lights or bulbs.

Furniture: Must be free of rips, tears, and stains. Must be in overall good condition and need no repair.

Hardware: We accept hardware for doors, cabinets, etc. Must be in good condition and not rusty. Preferably separated by type/style.

Lumber – Plywood – Siding – Trim: We accept full and 1/2 sheets of plywood. We accept full lengths of lumber (8 ft.). All scraps must be 4 feet or longer. 8 feet for pickup. Trim accepted in smaller pieces. Must be free of rot, nails, and screws.

Plumbing Fixtures: Should be clean and in usable condition. Toilets must include a tank top.

Roofing: Shingles must be in complete packages. Metal roofing in full lengths if possible. Most roofing materials donations are accepted on a case-by-case basis.

Tile: Accept vinyl and ceramic tile, unused or clean. Accept any amount of ceramic tile.

Windows: All vinyl windows are accepted. No cracked or missing windowpanes. Wooden windows usually accepted.
