Classes

Djembe class 4/14/11

All our classes are unique and wonderful--and we keep adding new ones!

Risk free policy for all classes: If, after your first lesson or class you decide not to continue, we will refund your payment minus a $3.00 processing fee. No questions asked. Classes must be cancelled 48 hours before the next scheduled class and may only be cancelled after the first class. Alternately, you can try a class without pre-paying, then, if you decide to continue, either pay online or in the studio. We try to make it easy.

Missed class policy: You may make up any missed classes within the given session period. If you have purchased all 14 classes on a Tuesday and miss one, you may make up in the Thursday class (as long as space is available).

Studio rules: Everyone must sign our Hold Harmless Agreement. Print it out here to save time when you arrive. Also, no shoes are allowed on the rugs, so everyone must wear socks! We have emergency socks at $3 a pair.

Every class is unique. Don't worry if you can't start at the beginning of a session. New students are happily incorporated into the group. That's part of the lesson!

Fun with Recording (Thursdays 3:30 - 4:25)

Thursdays 3:30 - 4:25 (0:55 minutes) (MIXED AGES )
This is a drop off class (though parents are welcome to join in or relax in the comfortable waiting room).

If you only take one series of lessons here at Fun-do-mental Music, then it should be this one. We use every instrument, plus our voices, plus sound effect to create a unique collaborative composition.

Each class works on their own unique project. We record, listen back, mix, and then record some more. It's about the process of making music, the nature of sound, the magic of creating together.
And it's fun!

Every Friday from 6:30 to 7:45 pm

Yoga, drum, gong, meditation. Douglas King brings his unique yoga instruction along with his wind gong to the studio where we combine our 34" Han Chi Chau Symphonic Gong (which emits a soothing low G) along with our Pearl Concert Series Bass Drum (sometimes we have didgeridoo and double bass, too!).

The result is an energizing yoga practice (20 minutes Kundalini breathing, 20 minutes asana) which prepares the body/mind for a unique communal meditation. While the gongs & bass drum vibrates, so do we. You need to make some sound if you want the Universe to hear you! The more souls involved, the deeper we go!

(Instruments provided for those who wish to meditate through musical involvement.)

Pay what you can!

Crystal Bowls on a beach

$20 suggested donation. (Pay what you can! No one turned away for lack of funds.)

Click here to hear and see Richard in action!

(Call (805) 778-1000 or e-mail if you plan on coming--PLEASE!)

Healer Richard Dubuc shares his wonderful Crystal Bowl Gongs with us. All notes correspond to chakras, the astral body, and the etheric body. With Richard and his bowls as guide, we blend and evolve within the sacred space, acknowledging that time and space are only co-existing in the illusion of our real-world senses--which Richard bring us out of.

Within the circle of the bowls one experiences their higher self through sound, vibration, and the music of the spheres.
Within the circle of the bowls is Light, Love, and Harmony through Grace.

For added depth, the magic of the bowls is  combined here at Fun-do-mental Music with the healing force of our
34" Han Chi Chau Symphonic Tam-tam (gong), and our Pearl Concert Series bass drum.

Join us. Become one with the harmony of the universe.

Please bring a yoga mat if you have one. Please wear socks.
